SunPower to supply solar panels for Casino Group

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Casino group, a French grocer, will get 14 megawatts of solar panels by the end of this year from SunPower Corp., the companies announced on Tuesday.

Jacques Ehrmann, Casino's chief real estate and development officer, called the project "the first step of a major new renewable energy initiative," and said it is part of several projects to be developed over the next several months.

SunPower ( SPWR – news – people ) shares rose 31 cents to $26.38 in midday trading.
