IAEA, Iran begin talks on nuclear questions

A high-ranking delegation from the UN nuclear watchdog has begun talks with Iran on the country's disputed nuclear program.

IAEA Deputy Director General Olli Heinonen is leading the UN delegation to the talks in Tehran and Javad Vaeedi, Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator, is heading the Iranian side.

Iran says the talks will focus on P-1 and P-2 centrifuge machines which can enrich uranium for either nuclear fuel or weapons.

During the two sides' four previous rounds of talks, Tehran expressed a willingness to answer outstanding questions related to its nuclear programme But it refuses to suspend uranium enrichment as demanded by the UN.
