Vestas receives 59 MW wind turbine order

Vestas has received a 59 MW order from Exelon Wind for 33 V100-1.8 MW turbines for the Harvest II Wind Project in Michigan.

Vestas will deliver, commission and maintain the turbines for 10 years as part of the contract. All of the wind turbine components will be built at Vestas' manufacturing facilities in Colorado.

Delivery is scheduled for mid-2012, with commissioning scheduled for late 2012.

The Harvest I Wind Project was commissioned in 2008 and uses 32 Vestas V82-1.65 MW turbines.

Exelon Wind also owns the Michigan Wind 2 Project, which is under construction and will include 50 V100-1.8 MW turbines. Michigan Wind 2 is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
