Update 8/5/2021: Solar Energy Trade Shows is now requiring either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID test for SPI admission.
“All participants, including attendees, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors and staff will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination from an FDA authorized vaccine, or a negative COVID test from no more than 72 hours prior to arrival. To keep the process efficient and touchless, your proof of vaccination will be submitted and verified through a secure, online system. Masks will also be required on-site, per the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center rules,” SETS announced via email.
“We will send additional updates in the next few weeks about when and how you can complete this important step ahead of your arrival.”
Solar Energy Trade Shows, the organizer of Solar Power International, issued an update in response to evolving news on the Delta variant and its effect on the show planned for September 20-23 in New Orleans. The organizers are committed to an in-person trade show, but are requiring everyone to wear masks.
“Per the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center, masks must be worn by all attendees, exhibitors and staff at SPI, ESI, and Smart Energy Week and the Community Solar Power Summit. As of July 30th, New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell has also reinstated a mask mandate for Orleans Parish. Masking, vaccination, and other common-sense safety measures mean the risk of COVID transmission is extremely low — even at large events — and allows us to return to the essential task of doing business face-to-face. For more information, please review the SETS Safely Connecting Initiative — a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that ensures a safe return to large-scale gatherings,” said SETS chief marketing and sales officer Gary Thuro in an email.
“We continue to monitor the situation and evolving health guidelines and are committed to holding a safe Smart Energy Week in person. We look forward to seeing you in New Orleans in September.
