Solar energy equipment to be supplied for plants in Spain

Struthers Wells, a division of Thermal Engineering International Inc. (TEi) and a unit of Babcock Power Inc., booked a contract to design and supply two solar steam generators for power plants in Spain.

Under terms of the contract, Struthers Wells will install the generators with preheaters, kettle-type evaporators, superheaters and reheaters and low- and high-pressure feedwater heaters at the two solar thermoelectric generation power plants. The plants will also have a 50 MW water steam cycle and use parabolic trough collectors with a molten salts thermal storage system.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2012.
