SMA Canada to unveil microinverter at Solar Canada trade show

Canada (Toronto, Canada) announced that it will unveil its new microinverter at the Solar Canada 2011 trade show, on December 5th – 6th, 2011 in Toronto.

The company will release the Sunny Boy 240 microinverter, which it says offers high reliability and performance, in 2012. SMA will also display its Sunny Boy HF-US line of high-frequency inverters to accompany residential solar photovoltaic (PV) installations.

"SMA is proud to tailor its products and services to meet the needs of Canadian solar installers," said SMA Canada President Jurgen Krehnke.

"Solar Canada 2011 attendees will be able to view the latest SMA has to offer, including outstanding new inverters designed for grid-tied and off-grid configurations."

Product launch is a good sign for microinverters

SMA states that its Sunny Boy 240 is ideal for roofs with multiple orientations, starter systems and locations where shading is unavoidable.

SMA Canada is a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG (Niestetal, Germany).

The parent company holds the world's largest market share in sales of inverters to accompany solar photovoltaic (PV) applications, and its launch of a microinverter product is a strong sign for growing acceptance of microinverter technology.
