Maryland Offshore Wind Blade Factory Announced

A Maryland businessman plans to open an offshore wind turbine blade manufacturing plant in Salisbury, Maryland, within two years, Delaware's News Journal reported.


John Congedo, the president of A~C Wind, said that he has a $10 million investment in the project but no agreements with wind turbine manufacturers.  The paper reported that Congedo expects to sign a lease for the facility – a closed boat fabricating plant – "shortly"


Land-Based Developers Look To Offshore Wind


Land-based wind developers are looking to join the offshore wind push and several responded to a recent request for interest in federal waters near Maryland, North American Wind Power reported today.


Terrestrial developers such as RES Americas, Iberdrola Renewables and NRG Energy replied to the RFI, according to the report.
