Mitsubishi wins maintenance contract for US wind projects

Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas has signed an agreement with Infigen Energy to provide maintenance services for its five wind turbine projects, located across the US.

Infigen Energy owns Class B membership interests in the wind projects, which employ 564 Mitsubishi 1MW wind turbines in four states.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mitsubishi will provide extended warranty, maintenance, and service for turbine projects.

Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas vice president and chief service officer, Harm Toren, said "Both MPSA and Infigen have entered into agreements where both parties win when the wind turbines at these projects are online and powering America with renewable energy."

Infigen explained that these agreements, which on an equity interest basis, cover 39% of Infigen Energy's US installed capacity, will assist towards fulfilling Infigen's objective of containing post warranty wind farm costs across its US portfolio.

Infigen managing director, Miles George, said the agreements further enhance Infigen's ability to manage the level and variability of post warranty wind farm costs.

"Infigen will continue to refine and implement its response strategies to contain operating costs," said George.
