Hokkaido Governor Approves Tomari Commercial Restart

Japan's Hokkaido prefecture approved the commercial restart of Hokkaido Electric Power Co.'s Tomari No. 3 nuclear reactor, Kyodo News reported, citing governor Harumi Takahashi.


The restart is the first return to commercial operations for a nuclear reactor since the disaster at Fukushima Dai-Ichi, Kyodo said. The reactor has been producing power as part of test operations since March.
