GAIL Invites Bids for 2.64 MW of Rooftop Solar Projects

GAIL (India) Limited, a leading natural gas company with diversified interests across the natural gas value chain, has invited bids for the installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar projects of a cumulative capacity of 2.64 MW (DC) on a turnkey basis at its premises in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.
The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project’s comprehensive operation and maintenance for ten years.
The scope of work includes survey, design, engineering, procurement, inspection, supply, unloading, and storage at site, associated civil works, services, erection, testing, and commissioning of the grid-connected projects with associated power evacuation systems up to the designated substations.
The last date to submit the bids is May 11, 2021. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders are not required to pay any earnest money deposit to take part in the bidding process.
The successful bidder should submit a performance bank guarantee of 3% of the total contract value.
The bidder should have designed, supplied, erected, and commissioned grid-connected rooftop solar power projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 5 MW or higher as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor during the last seven years. Out of the total capacity, the bidder should have installed at least one rooftop solar project of individual capacity not less than 1 MW in a single work order. The reference project should have been in successful operation for at least one year as of the bid submission date.
The bidder should have operated and maintained grid-connected solar projects of 1 MW capacity or above in a single work order, which should have been in operation for at least one year.
The bidder should have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or above voltage level circuit breakers and transformer, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor, which should have been in operation for at least one as on the bid submission date.
The bidder’s minimum average annual turnover should be ?50 million (~$667,438) during the last three years.
In October last year, GAIL had floated a tender seeking project management contract services for the same 2.64 MW of rooftop solar projects.
In November last year, GAIL invited bids for the appointment of a transaction advisor for evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities in the renewable energy space.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, GAIL has so far floated tenders for about 6.5 MW of rooftop solar projects.
