ERCOT's wind turbines set output record in October

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) said wind turbines in the service territory set a new output record of 7,400 MW on Oct. 7, or 15.2 percent of ERCOT's demand.


Peak wind load that day was 49,452 MW, according to the Wind Integration Report from ERCOT. The previous record was set on June 19 at 7,355 MW.
