343 MW wind energy project receives Siemens turbine parts

Siemens transported 22 wind turbine nacelles and hubs by rail from its new wind turbine nacelle assembly facility in Hutchinson, Kan.

The nacelles and hubs are headed to Puget Sound Energy's 343 MW Lower Snake River Wind Project near Pomeroy, Wash., where they will be combined with blades and towers for installation. The project is expected to be complete in 2012.

This is the first rail shipment by Siemens from its manufacturing facility in Kansas.
