Desert Rose and Desert Biodiversity Seminar Took place During COP16 in Riyadh, Zhongan Huali Gave a Speech as Representative of Chinese Enterprises

From December 2 to 13, 2024, The 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2 to 13 December 2024. The National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China organized the Chinese government delegation to attend the meeting and organized a series of side meetings at the China Pavilion.The Chinese delegation will have in-depth exchanges and interactions with other countries by going out and bringing in, and provide China’s solutions for global desertification control.

The Desert Rose and Desert Biodiversity Seminar was held on the evening of December 4. Mr. Huang Caiyi, Director of the Desert Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Dr. Aseel Othman Alsantely, Senior Research Expert of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Hani Abdulrahman Alkadi, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of Taif, Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Sultan Abdulaziz Alsadoon, CEO of the Saudi Financial Coordination Center, attended the meeting. Zhongan Huali Construction Group Ltd made a speech as the representative of Chinese enterprises.

Zhang Xiuling, Vice President of Zhongan Huali Construction Group, made a speech entitled “The Anhui Camel” on the Belt and Road”. She said, under the guidance of China’s Belt and Road policy, Huali Group has actively explored overseas markets and carried out engineering construction in more than 20 countries in recent years, such as Zambia, Angola, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Bolivia, and Dubai, getting the name of “Anhui Camel on the Belt and Road”. “Saudi Arabia is an extremely attractive emerging market for Huali. We can use the construction experience of water treatment, green buildings and prefabricated buildings accumulated in the practice of Chinese projects to foster local ecological environment protection while promoting the development of the local economy and society through digital industrialization. It is expected that we can work together to get deeper cooperation, achieve mutual benefit, win-win results and common development in Saudi Arabia, and contribute to sustainable development from the “Green Middle East” to all over the world.”

The Desert Rose and Desert Biodiversity Seminar is hosted by the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University and co-organized by the China-Arab Green Development Cooperation Center. It aims to promote technical exchanges and industrial cooperation by sharing the Chinese experience of integrated desertification control in solar, ecological restoration, water and soil treatment, green intelligent construction, and zero-carbon industry, and to contribute Chinese wisdom to the “Green Middle East”.
