Solar Wolf Energy completes 40-kW system for Rhode Island metalcaster

Solar Wolf Energy has completed a solar project for Rhode Island metalcaster Cumberland Foundry Co. The foundry has a 25.6-kW system on its roof, while a nearby office supports its own 13.6-kW system.

Many industrial applications lack an eco-friendly appeal, so working to offset environmental impact in other ways is imperative. Some of the biggest criticisms of the foundry industry include the massive amounts of energy needed to transform scrap steel and iron into a molten liquid ready to be poured into a mold. Cumberland Foundry does this cleanly with electricity through electric induction melting. Now that electricity is coming from on-site solar panels.
