Littelfuse has announced its latest product, the 400PV Fuse series — a 2410 size, surface mount design (SMD) circuit protection component that offers low resistance for solar applications.

The 400PV is specifically designed to address the latest trend in solar roofing by enabling PV shingles that integrate both the shingles with the PV cells while incorporating protection that meets the UL 248-19 standard for PV applications.

“The 400PV Fuse series innovation enables the next generation of smart home designs to utilize photovoltaic roof shingles to power up everything in a house that requires power,” said Boris Golubovic, Vice President, Marketing and Strategy at Littelfuse. “The protection provided by these PV fuses help ensure the operational longevity, maintenance convenience, and safety of solar home and building applications.”

The 400PV Fuse series is compliant with UL 248-19 standard for PV power systems design. It avoids nuisance opening due to high-reliability performance, 10,000-A max interrupting current at rated voltage. 400PV saves PC board space with surface mount design (SMD) and 2410 size, suitable for both leaded and lead-free soldering, and it is environmentally friendly, 100% lead-free, halogen-free, and RoHS compliant.

The 400PV Fuse series is available in tape and reel packaging. Sample requests can be placed through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide. For a listing of Littelfuse distributors, please visit Littelfuse.com.
