Vestas Gets Indian Order For 60 Wind Turbines

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems AS said Thursday it has received an order for 60 1.65 megawatt wind turbines for a wind power project in Theni, South India.

The order has been placed by CLP Group, which is one of Vestas' long-term global customers with installations in countries including China and Australia, the company said.

Shipment of the turbines is scheduled for the fourth quarter 2009 with expected commissioning to take place in January 2010, Vestas said, adding the order also includes a 10-year service and maintenance agreement.

The order doesn't affect Vestas' financial expectations for 2009.

At 1055 GMT, shares in Vestas were down 1.2% at DKK379.00, against a 0.1% drop in the wider market in Copenhagen.
