Vestas Contracted to Supply 44 Wind Turbines to US Wind Farm

Denmark-based Vestas has received an order to supply 44 wind turbines to a wind power project in the US. The order also comprises commissioning of the turbines and a five-year service and maintenance agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2009, with commissioning planned for the second half of 2010.

Jens Soby, president of Vestas Americas, said: "The US boasts excellent wind resources, and Vestas is pleased to be playing an active role in the utilization of its wind potential. Not only will the 44 wind turbines be a source of clean and renewable energy, they will also contribute to the creation of new local jobs
