The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has issued tender for rate contract manufacturing of polycrystalline solar modules of 325W. If solar cells are domestically manufactured, the diffusion process on wafers (black wafers) should be carried out in India. REIL is a joint venture between the government of India and the government of Rajasthan.
The tender has been floated for 6,500 polycrystalline solar modules. The peak power of the modules should be 325W, and cell efficiency should be greater than 16.6%.
The scope of work covers the contract manufacturing of polycrystalline solar PV modules made from 72 polycrystalline silicon solar cells in each module. If the solar cells used for module manufacturing are procured from foreign manufacturers, rates can be quoted separately. If blue wafers of solar cells are imported, it will be treated as imported cells.
The last date for the submission of bids is August 18, 2020, and the interested bidders must submit an amount of ?1 million (~$13,394) as the earnest money deposit (EMD).
To take part in the bidding process, the bidder should be an Indian solar PV module manufacturer and should have a solar module automated in-house manufacturing facility for a minimum of 100 MW per year. The bidder should have manufactured and supplied at least 5 MW of mono or multicrystalline solar modules of 325W or more during the last one year. The bidder should have manufactured and supplied locally-made solar modules of at least 325W, which must have been in successful operation for at least two years.
As per the tender document, the solar modules should have a warranty for their output peak watt capacity, which should not be less than 90% at the end of ten years and 80% at the end of 25 years.
Previously, Mercom had reported that REIL had announced a tender for the manufacturing of crystalline solar PV modules of 75W. The scope of work for the tender included contract manufacturing of crystalline solar PV modules of 75W made from 36 crystalline silicon solar cells.
In May this year, REIL invited bids for 1.1 million solar cells with wattages of 4.5W, 4.6W, and 4.67W. The scope of work included the supply of 300,000 of 4.5W, 400,000 of 4.6W, and 400,000 of 4.67W multicrystalline silicon solar cells to REIL.
Earlier, it also invited bids from Indian manufacturers to supply multicrystalline silicon solar cells. The tender was floated for 500,000 multicrystalline solar cells of 4.5W, 500,000 multicrystalline solar cells of 4.6W, and 300,000 multicrystalline solar cells of 4.67W.
