Wind power purchase agreement signed

Algonquin Power Co., a unit of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., signed a 25-year power purchase agreement for the 177 MW Chaplin Wind Project in Saskatchewan.


The project will use 77 wind turbines and construction is expected to be complete by December 2016. It is expected to cost C$355 million ($356.4 million).


Algonquin's wholly owned subsidiary, Windlectric Inc., signed the PPA with Saskatchewan Power Corp., the owner of the wind farm.
