The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan, has invited bids for the supply of 200,000 monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of wattage output 4.57 W.
The quantity of the solar cells may be increased or decreased as per REIL’s requirement.
The last date to submit the bids is September 11, 2021, and bids will be opened on September 13.
The tender is for the supply of four to five busbar monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells that are 156*156 ± 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm in dimension. The thickness of the solar cells should be 200 +/- 20 ?m.
The cells must be free of cracks, holes, cuts, edge chipping, missing gridlines, patches, spots, marks, mechanical damage, or color and pattern mismatches.
The solar cells should be packed in boxes of 100, and one box should contain solar cells in the power band of 0.05 W. The total quantity must be supplied in one to two lots within two weeks from the delivery clearance.
The vendors who have not supplied these cells earlier should submit a sample of 140 solar cells free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance before the tender’s due date. New vendors will be considered for trial orders subject to the sample’s approval by REIL and suitability of terms and conditions.
REIL states that 25% of the tendered quantity has been earmarked for micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers. Out of the 25% reserved for MSE suppliers, 20% has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs.
In case the MSE vendor participating in the tender quotes within the price band of L1+15%, they will be allowed to supply the portion of the requirement subject to acceptance of L1 price by the MSE vendor. In the case of more than one such MSE, the supply will be shared proportionately.
As per the tender documents, manufacturers will be given preference for promoting indigenous products subject to meeting quality standards and specifications.
If the delivery of the items is not made by the stipulated date, the party will have to pay liquidated damages at 1% of the value of the items per week, subject to a maximum of 10% of the unit delivered price of each unit so delayed.
Last month, REIL issued a notice inviting tender to supply 200,000 monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.57 Watt.
Earlier, REIL had invited bids to procure 200,000 multicrystalline solar cells of wattage output 4.62W.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, REIL has floated tenders for 8.04 million solar cells as of now.
