China, Scotland to strengthen co-op on renewable energy

China and Scotland will continue their collaboration in renewable energy production, a senior Scotland official has said.

Scotland's technological leadership in wind and marine power can help China attain its goal of increasing renewable energy sources, Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond said at a weekend forum in Beijing.

Beijing was the third leg of his China trip.

China's top economic planning body, the National Development and Reform Commission, said cooperation with Scotland would focus on marine wind-powered electricity and industries with low carbon emissions.
