Landslide kills at least 23 at hydropower plant construction site in China

The accident, apparently triggered by heavy rainfall, happened in Kangding County in the Ganzi Tibetan region of Sichuan Province at about 1:25 a.m., according to wire reports.


The landslide crushed work sheds at the construction site, according to the region’s public emergency command center, Xinhua reported. In addition to the workers killed, at least seven others were injured, reports indicate.
