Photon Energy and R.Power Renewables announce hybrid solar power system in Poland

Photon Energy Trading PL and R.Power Renewables have signed a strategic agreement to optimize the first hybrid solar and battery storage(PV + BESS) system in Poland.

This project is located in Nehrybka, in the Podkarpackie region, with a breakthrough in the country’s energy transition, by integrating photovoltaic generation with smart storage to improve the flexibility and resilience of the national electricity system.

This agreement provides for the real-time management of energy flows between the solar plant and the battery system, as well as between the hybrid asset and the grid. Photon Energy will act as a balancing party and ancillary service provider, enabling participation in multiple energy markets, including the spot and balancing markets.

During peak solar generation periods, energy can be stored in batteries and released when demand requires it, helping to mitigate the effects of negative prices in the electricity market and stabilize the grid.

This optimization is based on automated tools and forecasting systems that operate on 15-minute cycles, using artificial intelligence to determine the most profitable strategy at any given time.

The Nehrybka system is yet another example of our transformation from a developer of photovoltaic projects to a leading-edge integrated energy company.

Our goal is to develop solutions that improve the resilience and flexibility of the electricity system while driving the continued growth of renewable energy.

Katarzyna Suchcicka, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of R.Power.
