Six companies registered domestically, two from Bulgaria and one from Slovenia were awarded the right to construct solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants with an installed capacity of 35 MW on state land and receive feed-in premiums in North Macedonia.
North Macedonia’s government launched a tender in June for the construction of PV plants on state land, backed by feed-in premiums, and a few weeks later for private land. A total of 82 domestic and foreign companies submitted bids for state land and another 44 for the other segment.
The government has signed 11 agreements for state land locations and premiums
The Government of North Macedonia sent the list to Balkan Green Energy News:

- Solarpro Holding AD, Sofia
- V i E DOOEL, Shtip
- Solar Spektar AG, Skopje
- Domoteks DOOEL, Skopje
- Tim-Inzenering DOOEL, Skopje
- Group of bidders Dom Invest Milenium DOO Skopje and Mineral Trejding Makedonija DOOEL, Skopje
- Elan Trans DOOEL, Gostivar.
Out of a total of 80 bids upon the previously conducted electronic auction, the government has signed 11 agreements for premiums on state land in two municipalities: Makedonski Brod and Sveti Nikole. The government didn’t reveal the installed capacity for each contract.
The estimated pay-out sum for premiums is about EUR 200,000
The investors will have the right to use premiums within 15 years as of the date power plant is operational.
The Ministry of Economy, pursuant to the agreements, shall provide support for the land where the power plant will be built to be repurposed into construction land and for the investors to acquire long-term lease; and support for the connection of the power plant to the power distribution system, the government said.
One-time fee which the investors have paid for acquiring locations is about EUR 2.8 million in total
This year the estimated pay-out sum for premiums is about EUR 200,000 while the one-time fee which the investors have paid for acquiring these locations is about EUR 2.8 million in total, the government said.
The 62 MW to be installed on state and private land is part of the 200 MW solar power plant pledge made by this government.
A week ago North Macedonia’s state-owned power utility ESM announced a public call for the 100 MW Oslomej power plant.
