CATL, HyperStrong sign a 200GWh cooperation order

CATL has entered a ten-year strategic partnership with energy-storage integrator HyperStrong, with the two companies committing to long-term collaboration aimed at pushing China’s fast-growing storage sector into a more mature and sustainable phase, according to a press release CATL issued on Nov. 17.

Signed in CATL’s home base of Ningde, the agreement outlines joint efforts to experiment with new business models and build a benchmark for enduring cooperation across the industry value chain.

HyperStrong, one of China’s top providers of energy-storage systems and related services, has long worked closely with CATL on technology and supply-chain integration. Under the new agreement, the companies will build a four-pillar collaboration framework—spanning battery cells, system integration, capital investment and operations—to better align their strengths and respond to shifts in the global storage landscape.

Beyond a guaranteed supply of CATL cells, the partnership covers joint procurement of AC-side components, co-establishment of industry funds, and the development of an integrated platform that links project development, investment, operation and maintenance, laying the groundwork for a shared product-to-ecosystem model.

CATL emphasized that the long-term pact reflects its broader strategy of building an open, collaborative energy ecosystem through innovation and resource sharing. By deepening ties with HyperStrong, the battery giant aims to strengthen joint capabilities in R&D, smart manufacturing and market deployment, ultimately accelerating the large-scale rollout of energy-storage solutions across next-generation power systems.
