2013 Solar Decathlon China: JinkoSolar Partners with Shanghai Jiaotong University

JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., a global PV solar power product manufacturer, will partner with Shanghai Jiaotong University in the construction of its solar-powered house, including JinkoSolar high quality Solar PV modules for the 2013 Solar Decathlon China

Over 20 teams of the selected best students from worldwide universities will participate in the first Solar Decathlon China, which will take place in Datong, China in mid-August. The collegiate teams compete to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient and style-attractive.

As one of the participating teams, students from SJTU have spent months in the preparation of designing and building an elegant southern Chinese-style house perfectly equipped with modern energy-efficient appliances powered by 13 kilowatt JinkoSolar PV panels. With the proper angled roof engineered to capture sunlight, the house does not require any electric lights during the day. Without sacrificing comfort and style in pursuit of alternative energy use, the solar panels on the rooftop array are adjustable to maximize sun exposure in a wide range of climates. The prototype house will be kept on STJU's Minhang Campus upon completion and used as an international students' activities center.
