Lightsource BP secures PPA for 132-MW DC solar project in Arkansas

City-owned utility system operator Conway Corporation will be buying electricity from a 132-MW DC solar power plant that will be built by Lightsource BP in the state of Arkansas.

Conway Corp said in a statement last week that its board of directors has approved the signing of a fixed-rate power purchase agreement (PPA) with a term of 20 years tied to this project.

Lightsource BP will finance, build, own and operate the solar park at a 700-acre (283.3 hectares) site near Happy in White County. The plant will be able to generate enough electricity to supply over 21,400 homes in the city of Conway.

The project is expected to open some 250 job positions during its construction. Completion of the facility is scheduled for end-2022.
