Amid Covid-19 lockdown, Gurugram based Indian developer Amplus Solar came forward to help villagers in the vicinity of a 75 MWp open access solar park owned by it in Uttar Pradesh.

Amplus Solar reached out to the families in need by providing them ration when the situation worsened for the community of Gurudev Nagar village in Mirzapur district due to the inability to commute to procure everyday essentials—according to a company statement.

“This was in continuation of Amplus’ efforts to contribute to the local community and not just provide green energy through setting up and operation of Solar park”—it said.

The Gurudev Nagar village is situated in a remote area harboring around 350 people.

The global pandemic has severely shaken the world and has had catastrophic effects on the livelihood of millions across the globe. In India the maximum brunt of the unprecedented scenario is being faced by the poor labourers and daily wage workers. Amidst these difficult times, citizens and corporates are uniting to better the situation of the people in dire circumstances.

Amplus Solar—a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia-based Petronas Holdings—provides clean energy to industrial and commercial customers by setting up both on-site solar projects (rooftop and ground-mounted) and off-site solar farms.

Today, Amplus owns and manages a portfolio of 650+ MWp of distributed solar assets across Asia.

Amplus has also forayed into the Open Access segment and has a capacity of almost 200 MWp ground-mount projects. Currently, it is working on an additional capacity of over 200 MW open access solar parks in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
