Wind farm with largest single power generation unit ready for operation

Construction of the Zhangbei Manjing wind farm project, which has a 200,000 kilowatt of total installed capacity, was recently completed and ready for operation. The project was financed and constructed by the China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation (CECIC). The wind farm will have the largest single power generation unit in China.

Located on the famous Bashang Grassland, 212 kilometers from Beijjng, Zhangbei Manjing Wind Power Farm is one of the six 1-million-level wind farms in China's national planning program.

The Zhangbei Manjing Wind Power Farm will be capable of realizing an annual power output capacity of 450 million kilowatt hours and saving 250,000 tons of standard coal. It will reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 400,000 tons, sulfur dioxide by 4,000 tons, nitrogen oxide by 2,226 tons, hydrocarbon by 21.24 tons and dust by 2,200 tons. In addition, the farm will reduce waste residue disposal by 17,000 tons and water consumption by 11,400 tons. Not only will the farm supply green energy to Beijing and Tianjin, it will also have a practical significance in improving the energy structure of the North China Power Grid which will effectively enhance the environmental condition in areas of North China such as Beijing and Tianjin.
