Arques, Siemens, Solon fuer Solartechnik: German Equity Preview

The following stocks may rise or fall in German markets.


Germany's X-DAX Index fell 0.3 percent to 7,508. The index provides an estimate of the DAX Index, based on trading in DAX futures after the Xetra electronic market closes. The DAX climbed 0.8 percent to 7,535.97 on the Xetra electronic-trading system.


Stock symbols are in parentheses after the company names and prices are from the Xetra close unless otherwise stated.


Arques Industries AG (AQU GY): The investment company which owns stakes in machinery makers bought unprofitable Woco Michelin AVS, a joint venture founded in 2000 by Woco and Michelin & Cie. for an undisclosed price. The shares increased 94 cents, or 3 percent, to 31.90 euros.


Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBA GY): The buyout firm focusing on small- and medium-sized companies plans to post third-quarter results. The company in May said its first-half profit probably climbed more than threefold, helped by the increased value of its holdings as well as rising orders at companies it controls. The shares were unchanged at 26.16 euros.


Siemens AG (SIE GY): Europe's largest engineering company may not extend Uriel Sharef and Klaus Wucherer's terms on the management board, Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported, citing unidentified people at the supervisory board. The shares climbed 83 cents, or 0.9 percent, to 89.25 euros.


Solon AG fuer Solartechnik (SOO1 GY): The solar-cell maker plans to issue as many as 1.08 million new shares to finance expansion. The shares fell 61 cents, or 0.9 percent, to 64.45 euros.
