Sungrow’s EnerNeo solid-state transformer (SST) has been awarded system-level and key-component-level certification certificates by leading global third-party testing and certification body TUV Rheinland, based on the UL, IEC, EN and 2 PfG series of standards. It becomes the world’s first SST product to simultaneously obtain system-level dual certification under both European and American standards, taking the lead in meeting the substantive conditions for large-scale commercial deployment in European and American data centre markets, and accelerating the global commercialisation of 800V DC new power supply architectures based on SST solutions.
The certificate award ceremony was held on site at the OCP Global Summit. Sean Tilley, Vice President of TUV Rheinland’s Product Service Business Group for the Americas, presented the certificates to Zhang Di, President of Sungrow’s SST business, with experts from Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA and other core initiating members of the OCP SST working group in attendance as witnesses.
Full-unit system-level assessment against UL, IEC, EN and 2 PfG standards
This certification covers the SST as a complete unit. TUV Rheinland conducted a system-level assessment of EnerNeo strictly in accordance with safety standards including UL 2877, IEC/EN 62477-1, IEC/EN 62477-2 and 2 PfG 3175, as well as EMC standards including EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-4 and FCC Part 15. Ultimately, the EnerNeo product successfully obtained the TUV Rheinland certification mark, the cTUVus and EMC certificates, and the corresponding test reports.

Among these, the core high-frequency isolation transformer completed dedicated certification under 2 PfG 3179, meeting the 13.8 kV reinforced insulation requirement and ensuring the safety characteristics of the SST.
Accelerating 800V DC architectures for AI data centres
The dual certification under European and American standards removes a key compliance barrier for SST-based power supply architectures in overseas data centre markets. As AI computing demand drives rack power density rapidly higher, 800V DC architectures are increasingly regarded by the industry as the next-generation power supply route, and the SST is a core component for realising the medium-voltage-to-DC conversion at the heart of that architecture.
With system-level certification in hand, Sungrow’s SST business is positioned to support the commercial rollout of SST solutions across global data centre projects, and to work with OCP ecosystem partners on standardisation and engineering deployment.
