Solar Power expands into North Carolina

Solar Power Inc. of Roseville has sold its first Yes! Solar Inc. franchise on the East Coast to a group of private investors in Cary, N.C.

The Yes! Solar Solutions outlet will serve an 8,993-square-mile area that includes the Research Triangle region. The investment group includes Cary residents Stew Miller, Kathy Miller and Jeff Fike.

High electric rates and a state loan program for residential and commercial renewable-energy installations make the region a good target for solar power, according to Solar Power (OTCBB:SPOW) in a news release. The loan program offers a 1 percent interest rate for a 10-year term.

Yes! Solar operates a company-owned store in Roseville and has franchisee operations in the San Francisco Bay area and Orange County.
