RadianX, a US perovskite module maker targeting connected devices, has closed $9 million in combined venture capital and project financing to build a 6 MW automated production line for its internet-of-things power products.
The round was co-led by SOSV and Twynam, with participation from One Small Planet, Sahsen Ventures, Avila VC, California Innovation Fund, quantumEDGE, Riceberg Ventures and Alumni Ventures. Manufacturing partner Pacific Union Technology Precision Manufacturing will also fund a dedicated line for IoT applications.
RadianX’s single-junction perovskite modules harvest light indoors and out, with thicknesses from 0.7 mm for surface integration. The company reports certified efficiency of 22.33% on a 1.2 by 0.6 m module and 24.24% on a 300 by 300 mm sample, alongside a third-party-tested indoor conversion efficiency of 38% and power density of 50 uW/cm2 under 500 lux illumination. Durability was tested under IEC TS 63163, passing all three categories including the outdoor-exposure Category 3, with accelerated testing supporting a projected life beyond ten years.
Product lines include rigid AlphaGlass and semitransparent AlphaVis modules, with flexible AlphaFlex units in development. Co-founder and CEO Vivian Qu said the company has demonstrated record certified efficiency on a full-size module together with third-party durability on the same platform. The funding targets the shift from small-scale manufacturing to automated production rather than a new factory site, which the company has not disclosed.
