Loom Solar, an emerging startup under Govt. of India’s StartUp India initiative, has won the ‘Fastest Growing SMB of the Year’ by Amazon during Amazon SMBhav 2020.

The company, which hosts an online solar product store, also manufactures its own brand of monocrystalline solar panels and claims to be one of the fastest growing startups in residential solar space having presence in more than 700 cities.

Eyeing 100 million customers by FY ’21, Loom Solar is banking on Amazon’s tremendous reach to aid its growth.

Speaking on the occasion, Loom Solar co-founder Amod Anand said, “We began our journey as a solar company that has embraced digital technology—the most acceptable format to generate scale and create a national presence with a click of few buttons.  We are enthused to see the acceptance and adoption of solar energy from the most urban to the deepest of the rural pockets of India and would like to thank Amazon for enabling us to achieve our mission.”

In addition to its own products, Loom Solar hosts on its website solar products such as panels, inverters, chargers and batteries from other brands along with installation services and government approvals.

The company recently introduced IoT (Internet of Things) based AC solar modulesintegrated with microinverter technology. These smart grid-ready panels have a 7th generation microinverter from U.S. manufacturer Enphase (IQ7+ Micro) mounted on their backsheet, providing a plug-and-play option for large and small establishments and households.
