GCL-Poly plans 1 GW solar farm in China

GCL-Poly and CGN Solar Energy Development Co will develop a 1 GW solar farm in Datong City, Shanxi Province, China, as part of a framework agreement between the two companies.

GCL-Poly did not offer further details on the project, but says the agreement between the two companies "is to kick-start solar farm investments systematically in Shanxi Province where the area has abundant solar resources."


Datong City has been chosen as the host city for the 2013 International Solar Decathlon.
