Shikoku's Ikata No.1 reactor to enter maintenance Sept

Shikoku Electric Power Co said on Wednesday its 566-megawatt Ikata No. 1 nuclear reactor will enter planned maintenance from Sept. 4, while its 566-megawatt Ikata No.2 reactor will face planned maintenance from Jan. 13.

Japan's government is struggling to come up with clear guidelines for restarting nuclear power plants, which have been shut for regular maintenance amid mounting public anxiety over the safety of such facilities, fuelling concerns about a prolonged period of electricity supply tightness.
