Iran inaugurates biggest solar power plant

Iran has launched its biggest solar power plant in the northeastern city of Mashhad, the IRNA news agency reported.

The solar power plant – built by native experts – would generate enough electricity for Razavi Khorasan province near the Afghanistan border, where Mashhad is situated.

The plant aims to make optimum use of energy from natural resources, to develop clean energy that help reduce pollution, and to stabilise electricity supply in the region, the report said.
