China to Give Priority to Hydropower Development

China will give priority to hydropower development in the five years through 2015, the 21st Century Business Herald reported, without saying where it got the information.


The nation will increase hydropower generation capacity to around 284 gigawatts by 2015 and 330 gigawatts by 2020, the newspaper said. Wind power capacity may reach 100 gigawatts by 2015 and 180 gigawatts by 2020, and solar power may rise to about 2 gigawatts by 2015 and 20 gigawatts by 2020, according to the report.
