Solar FlexRack Selected for 300KW Solar Project in Texas

The Solar FlexRack has been chosen for another solar array project, this one in Texas's Rio Grande Valley.

The Weslaco Project, to be erected near McAllen, Texas, will use 97 Solar FlexRacks to mount Schott Poly 230 W. modules, which will ultimately supply 300KW of electrical power. The contractor for the project, Meridian Solar of Austin, expects to break ground in mid-January 2011.

The Solar FlexRack is being specified for more and more projects across North America because of the significant savings it offers in labor costs. Thanks to its unique unfolding design, a Solar FlexRack can be installed by a three-man crew in 5 minutes or less, while its nearest competitor estimates an installation time of 45 minutes with a six-man crew for each rack.

Contractors and project designers interested in quantifying those savings can do so at the Solar FlexRack website. Inputting the number of mounting racks a project will require into the Solar FlexRack Savings Calculator returns a side-by-side comparison of the number of hours, man-hours and total savings that can be realized by specifying the Solar FlexRack as opposed to competing rack mounting systems.
