Vestas receives 63 MW wind power order in Sweden

Vestas has received a wind farm order from Näsudden Väst Invest, Slitevind AB and Stugyl AB for delivery of 21 units of the V90-3.0 MW wind turbine.

The order has a total capacity of 63 MW and the wind turbines will be installed in Näsudden, located on the island of Gotland southeast of Sweden.

Delivery and installation of the wind turbines is scheduled to be completed in late 2011. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system and a 15-year service agreement.

The wind farm project named Gotland Repowering is a joint enterprise between the three parties Näsudden Väst Invest, Slitevind AB and Stugyl AB.

The island of Gotland has a great history of wind power and provides the best wind conditions and surroundings. Vestas installed its first wind turbine on Gotland in 1983, and their service organisation has been present on the island for many years.

“It is with great pleasure we announce the signing of this order,” says Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe. "Vestas’ long-term relationship and commitment to developers on Gotland has made this contract possible. We are especially happy to have Näsudden Väst Invest, Slitevind AB and Stugyl AB as partners in this, and the extended service agreement shows a trust in Vestas as a long-term provider. This is Vestas’ largest project on Gotland so far.”
