India Boosts Grid-Connected Clean Energy by 16% in 2009-10


India boosted the amount of clean energy capacity connected to the national grid by 16 percent in the financial year ended March 31, the government said.


The South Asian nation added 2,330 megawatts of capacity from renewable sources including solar, wind, water and biomass, bringing the total to 16,817 megawatts, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said in a statement yesterday.
