Sungrow inks deal for 100 MW of solar inverters, energy storage in Japan

China’s Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) last week announced an agreement that calls for the distribution of 100 MW of photovoltaic (PV) inverters and energy storage solutions across Japan.

The deal was signed with Japanese group YUASA.

Sungrow has been present in Japan since 2014 and has supplied more than 50 MWh of energy storage solutions in the country as well as PV inverters for a 9-MW project in Tochigi and a 2-MW project in Oita.

“We are more than delighted to partner with YUASA to better serve the local customers in this market of huge potentials. We’ll keep relentlessly pursuing technical innovations to minimize LCOE [levelised cost of energy] and offering more profitable portfolio despite the ongoing FiT,” Sungrow country manager for Japan, Sun Xiao, commented.
