Sauer Energy launches community wind project concept

Sauer Energy, a developer of small wind turbines, has launched a new design concept for community wind power projects in the US.

Their concept involves generating energy from a strategically placed cluster of turbines in a low wind area while remaining close to an existing grid. Dieter Sauer, Sauer Energy CEO and president, said the company will accelerate the early adoption of wind energy with technical approaches in low wind areas.

"Community Wind Projects come at a critical stage for local municipalities to meet future demand, secure jobs and present the potential for the spirit of free enterprise to prosper," said Sauer.

"We are working relentlessly to bring this opportunity to market in the near future."

Sauer Energy aims to provide compact and affordable alternatives to wind power projects on a commercial scale, which can be placed closer to the areas where more energy is consumed.

A community wind project can be owned by an individual or a small local group, while private owners can benefit by utilising the energy generated or by selling it to a utility company.
