Second IAEA team leaves DPRK after ending inspection of nuclear facilities

The second team of UN inspectors left here Saturday for Vienna after completing a two-week inspection of nuclear facilities at Yongbyon in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

At the airport, one member of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) inspection team told Xinhua that although they were returning to the headquarters in Vienna, the UN nuclear watchdog had sent another two inspectors to continue monitoring work at Yongbyon.

"The second team has completed its work successfully at Yongbyon," said an official of the DPRK Atomic General Bureau on condition of anonymity.

Following the first team, the second IAEA team arrived in the DPRK on July 28 to start the two-week inspection at Yongbyon.

The IAEA Director-General Mohamed El Baradei announced on July 18 that the DPRK had shut down all its five nuclear facilities.
