Indonesia welcomes DPRK nuclear shutdown

Indonesia has welcomed Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s decision to shut down its Yongbyon nuclear reactor over the weekend and praised the country for sticking to commitments made in the last six-party talks.

"It's a very positive step," Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman Kristiarto Soeryo Legowo was quoted Tuesday by English daily The Jakarta Post as saying.

He said the shutdown could provide a comprehensive solution to the problems arising from DPRK's nuclear reactors.
