Conference set on renewable energy

Federal and state energy officials will gather Thursday in Lincoln for a one-day conference on renewable energy that's open to the public.



Thomas Dorr, undersecretary for Rural Development for the U.S. Agriculture Department, will be the keynote speaker. Other participants include representatives of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, public power districts, the Environmental Protection Agency and the University of Nebraska.



Topics include wind, biomass and geothermal energy, ethanol and energy efficiency.



The conference is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the East Campus Union at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Those who register by Monday and pay $20 will receive lunch and parking. Advance registration is not required to attend, but those who don't register in advance will not receive lunch.
