Construction starts on 160-MW solar project powering West Texas natural gas plant

Concho Valley Solar started construction of a 160-MWAC solar project near San Angelo in Tom Green County, Texas that is expected to come online by the end of 2022. The solar project will provide power to Targa Resources’ natural gas processing plant in West Texas.

Approximately 150 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase and increased revenues will be generated over the operating life for Tom Green County taxing entities.

Concho Valley Solar is designed to minimize impacts to wildlife, habitat and other environmental resources. The project will use bifacial solar photovoltaic modules. Concho Valley Solar is a joint development between Merit SI and Komipo America.
