Commercial and industrial projects with a combined capacity of 152 MW are the winners in France’s latest tender for rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity.
The 306 winning proposals were announced by the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition on Monday. The procurement was the 10th round of tenders for rooftop PV schemes with capacities of between 100 kW and 8 MW. The selection of projects was made in two categories.
The first bidding window, which was open for proposals of between 100 kW and 500 kW, attracted bids with a final average price of EUR 93.98 (USD 105.8) per MWh, which is lower than the EUR 96.49/MWh from the previous tender round. The average price in the 500 kWp-8 MWp category came at EUR 83.06/MWh, down from EUR 86.17/MWh in round 9.
The list of winning projects is available on the ministry’s website. As in the previous tender, the bulk of the selected proposals fall in the smaller category and have individual capacities of less than 300 kW. Technique Solaire Invest, which also won multiple smaller projects, grabbed the largest project in terms of installed capacity — a 7-MW scheme in Dordogne department.
The government noted that it will grant delays for the commissioning of projects as part of a recovery plan following the COVID-19 crisis. The country’s goal is to have up to 44.5 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity in 2028.
