Japan Asia Investment completes 20 MW of solar projects

Tokyo-based Japan Asia Investment Co Ltd (TYO:8518) said on Wednesday it has completed three photovoltaic (PV) plants with a combined capacity of 20.4 MW in Hokkaido and Fukushima Prefectures.

The solar parks were put into operation during the first quarter of 2020. Together, they are able to generate some 24,584 MWh of electricity per year, enough to meet the annual demand of about 5,060 local households.

Two of the three projects were implemented under a partnership with Japanese company Smart Solar Corp.

In addition to being the largest of the facilities with 15.7 MW of installed capacity, Monbetsu Kodo Solar Power Plant also has a 8.3-MWh lithium battery storage system, the company noted.
