Almost 22,000 households in Ukraine use solar panels – Energy Efficiency Agency

In Ukraine, almost 22,000 private households have installed solar panels, according to the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving.

“Almost 22,000 households in Ukraine use ‘clean’ electricity, having invested around EUR 450 million in solar power plants. The total capacity of installed solar power plants makes up over 553 MW,” reads the statement.

In 2019, almost 15,000 households switched to clean electricity, compared to about 20 households in 2014.

The largest number of solar power plants has been installed by households in: Dnipropetrovsk region – over 2,700; Ternopil region- more than 2,000; Kyiv region – almost 1,800.

The state agency notes that households’ demand for modern “clean” technologies is growing rapidly every year.
